What is your area of specialty – how do you best help your clients?

I specialized in Employee Benefit Plan audits, but also do review and compilation of financial statements, and business tax returns. I am also a member of the FUN team.

What are your top 5 strengths? What is your favorite strength?

My top 5 strengths are: Developer, Harmony, Empathy, Achiever, and Consistency. My favorite strength is Empathy because I think it is unique in our field and it allows me to understand other people’s vantage points.

How do you like to give back to the community?

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is an organization I’ve been involved in since 2016. I enjoy participating in the JDRF fundraisers and their annual ‘Walk for a Cure’. I appreciate how involved HN is in the community, and I also enjoy participating in firm sponsored events such as the United Way Day of Caring and the GR Pride Festival.

Tell us about your life outside of work (family/pets/sports/activities/interests/hobbies)

I have an amazing husband, Patrick, and we just got married this past September. We like going to the beach, golfing, going to baseball/basketball/football games, working on home improvement projects (like building our bar), doing Escape Rooms, watching shows and sports, doing puzzles (mostly during quarantine…haha), traveling, playing on our beach volleyball league, and spending time with our people.

I’m also super close with my family so I enjoy going on annual ‘sisters trips’ with my younger sister and best friend, Brianne, and spending time with my parents. I’m a Notre Dame football fan so I try to get down to a game at least once a year. I love music and I’m an avid concert goer (especially the Goo Goo Dolls….I’ve been to 11 of their concerts 😊)

What is your favorite part of working at the firm?

The people. I love working with smart, kind, funny, hardworking people. I trust the leaders in our firm and I am really appreciative of their flexibility and willingness to creativity figure out a way to let me continue to work for the company when I wanted to move outside of Grand Rapids.
