Tessa joined Hungerford Nichols’ team in July of 2011 and was promoted to Manager in 2016. Tessa specializes in small to mid-size businesses and not-for-profit accounting, with a background in managing business operations, employees and client relations. She works closely with a variety of organizations and their management teams to ensure they have accurate financial information. Her areas of expertise include accounting processes and controls, preparing financial statements and projections, annual budgeting and not-for-profit grant tracking. She also has experience overseeing and approving payroll and benefits for businesses, as well as public schools. She provides training to accounting and bookkeeping staff and is a QuickBooks certified Pro-Advisor.
Tessa earned an Associate of Science in Business Studies degree from Cornerstone University and a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting, from Grand Valley State University. She is on the board of directors for the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre and the BRAINS Foundation and is also a member of the following professional organizations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA); Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO); West Michigan Hispanic Area Chamber of Commerce and Forest Hills Business Association.
