Tessa has followed a unique path into the field of accounting. She started in the field of Cosmetology, maintaining her license for over 13 years, and transitioning into accounting through various business organizations. She brings her range of experience together to specialize in small to mid-size businesses and not-for-profit accounting, as well as managing business operations, employees, and client relations. She is passionate about working with business owners and their management teams to ensure they have accurate financial information and sound business processes. Her areas of expertise include accounting and business systems implementation and oversight, business processes, financial statement analysis and reporting, annual budgeting and forecasting, and not-for-profit grant tracking.
Tessa earned an Associate of Science in Business Studies degree from Cornerstone University, a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting, from Grand Valley State University, and maintains a current CPA certification in the State of Michigan. She is a QuickBooks certified Pro-Advisor. Tessa is on the board of directors for the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre and the BRAINS Foundation. She is also a member of the following professional organizations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO).
