Senior Accountant – Accounting Solutions Team – Grand Rapids

As a key member of our Accounting Solutions Team, the Senior Accountant position will assume a strategic role in providing accounting and advisory services to our West Michigan based small business clients in a wide variety of industries. This will include a keen ability to meet deadlines, be proactive and provide consistent communication to clients and fellow team members.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
  • Has or pursuing advanced degree or certification (ex. CPA)
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience (public accounting experience preferred)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accounts reconciliation and oversight
  • Financial statement preparation
  • Payroll processing which includes payroll tax reporting
  • Sales and use tax reporting
  • Be aware and mindful of prescribed budgets and deadlines
  • Provide technical assistance to clients
  • Software implementation
  • Communicate with engagement leaders regarding open items or other important matters in a timely manner
  • Oversee and mentor interns
  • Involved in recruiting process for department
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • QuickBooks experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to multiple businesses/industries
  • Must be able to manage client relationships and workload
  • Ability to work overtime to meet client and firm needs
  • Ability to handle stress and deadlines
  • Willing to learn and ask questions if needed
