TRAVEL Local and within normal business hours. Limited due to COVID. Some on-site work transitioned to virtual fieldwork.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA or actively pursuing certification
  • 2 years of public accounting experience (tax and/or audit)
  • Tech savvy

SUMMARY

As a key member of our team, the position will assume a strategic role in providing tax preparation and audit engagement services to our West Michigan based clients in a wide variety of industries. This will include a keen ability to pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, be proactive and provide consistent communication to clients and fellow team members.

 DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of S-Corp, partnership, 990s, trust and corporate tax returns
  • Assisting with 1040 preparation and review as needed which may involve training new Staff and Interns and being available as a resource/mentor
  • Evaluation of tax correspondence and drafting responses to taxing authorities
  • Audit engagement planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up
    • Employee Benefit Plan audits
  • Generating good ideas that add up for our valued clients
