What is your area of specialty – how do you best help your clients?

My area of specialty is in recruiting, campus engagement and on-boarding. I best help jobseekers looking to pursue a career in public accounting and connecting them with the right opportunity for them! I enjoy getting to know all candidates on a personal and professional level to understand their career goals and how I can best help get them where they want to be in their career.

I work with local schools, colleges and universities on coordinating and attending campus engagement events to recruit top talent to our firm. I work with new hires on making sure their on-boarding process is seamless and welcoming. I work with current employees, Managers and Partners in discussing staffing needs to help aid in filling any gaps in staffing.

What are your top 5 strengths? What is your favorite strength?

My strengths are Developer, Futuristic, Relator, Restorative and Responsibility. My favorite strength is Developer because I find my strength aligning up with the field that I have chosen to be in – which is Human Resources. I have a passion for growing talent in others and developing strong relationships with employees and candidates.

I see potential in others. I am always looking for ways to help someone grow both as an individual and in their career. My goal is to help others by being an advocate for their growth, helping get the resources they need to be successful and being a support system for encouragement during their growth phase to get to success.

How do you like to give back to the community?

I like to give back to the community right through our very own Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee here at the firm! I am passionate about participating in efforts to make our work-place inclusive, where everyone’s ideas are heard no matter where you come from, how you look or what your background is.

As part of the ‘Community’ subcommittee, I also love getting involved with local high schools/ college universities and coordinating job shadows, scholarship opportunities we may offer and attending campuses on-site to give students advice on entering the workforce out of high school or college.

What are your superpowers – something you’re good at that others should know about?

This is kind of cliché but I’m good at just being there for people. My friends always tell me they come to me for advice or wisdom. I am always available for support or words of encouragement, if needed and I do genuinely have a passion for making sure everyone’s included around me. I enjoy being able to relate with others.

Accomplishment you’re proud of?

An accomplishment that I’m proud of is being the first-generation college graduate in my household. My family and I immigrated here from Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1999 and have since learned English, graduated high-school, and completed my undergraduate! I hope to go back for my Master’s.

Tell us about your life outside of work (family/pets/sports/activities/interests/hobbies)

Life outside of work consists of hanging out with my husband and family. I am the oldest of three, I have a younger sister finishing up college and a younger brother who is a Junior in high school. My husband and I LOVE to travel across the US, explore unique countries, and experience different cultures. So far, our favorite place we have been together is Cappadocia, Turkey. I also happened to get over my fear of heights on this trip and enjoy a beautiful hot air balloon ride over the canyons!

I enjoy hiking, sight-seeing and experiencing new adventures. In my free time, I also like watching shows (some of my favorites are Breaking Bad, Ozark and Prison Break) weightlifting/fitness, interior design and lastly, hanging out with the newest member of our family – our 6-month old kitten, Elsa!

What is your favorite part of working at the firm?

My favorite part of working at the firm is the family feel and how well everyone collaborates. I’m so grateful to be able to build long-term relationships with Staff!
