Katy joined the firm in 2018 as a Business Advisor. She brings with her over 25 years of leadership experience working in corporate accounting and providing advisory services to small and mid-size businesses. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University and earned her Master of Science Management, Leadership & Strategy degree from Michigan State University in May 2020.
She specializes in working with small to mid-size businesses in the areas of accounting, budgeting, operations, talent engagement, stakeholder relations, and business strategy formulation and implementation. Katy plays an instrumental role in the firm’s outsourced accounting and advisory services team and is also leading the efforts in the firm’s fraud & litigation team.
She is passionate about servant leadership and helping business owners and their teams realize their goals. She always strives to provide excellent service to her clients. She is an experienced leader with a demonstrated history of working to create ethical best practices for businesses. She is a strong accounting professional skilled in management, strategic planning, accounting, business process improvement, and business analysis. Katy enjoys mentoring others and helping them to grow in their profession.
Katy is a member of Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and the IMA; volunteers for ACG Women in Finance; participated as an ACG Cup Judge in 2019 and 2020, and soon 2021; and serves on the Board of Directors for Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women (GROW).
Katy and her husband Walt have two sons. She enjoys golf, entertaining, and spending time with friends and family.
