What is your area of specialty – how do you best help your clients?

I specialize in assurance and accounting solution services related to for-profit, not-for-profit and employee benefit plan industries. I also have experience dealing with closely-held companies, including financial statement reviews, financial and strategic planning, analysis, projections, process assessment and improvement for a variety of industries including manufacturing, food processing, distribution and funeral homes.

I also have several years private industry experience in the not-for-profit industry, working as a senior operations director in a local not-for-profit organization.

What are your top 5 strengths? What is your favorite strength?

Individualization, Achiever, Strategic, Learner, Arranger. My favorite strength is learner because with this strength you can always take something from every situation and experience – both positive and challenging – and be better for it.

How do you like to give back to the community?

I am the current Treasurer of the United Way of the Lakeshore. I am a big advocate for early childhood reading and am passionate about our support for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. I’ve also been a coach for Girls on the Run. This program is such a positive way to teach self-care and positive “self talk” to elementary age girls.

What are your superpowers – something you’re good at that others should know about?

I love all aspects of client service – I am truly a people-focused person. I thrive in situations where problems need to be analyzed and creative solutions need to be found.

Accomplishment you’re proud of?

I was really proud when I passed all four parts of the CPA exam at once, but I’m more proud that I’ve found a way of being a successful working mother for 22 years. I’ve had great support and amazing mentors along the way that showed me it was possible.

Tell us about your life outside of work (family/pets/sports/activities/interests/hobbies)

I am a family-centered person, my family is my heart. My husband and I will celebrate our 10 year anniversary in 2022 and we are raising three strong and fiercely independent young women ages 21, 18 and 16.

What is your favorite part of working at the firm?

I love working for a firm that has a value system so closely aligned to my own. Many firms can say they are committed to a balanced life or excellence or learning, but at Hungerford we expect our employees to live those values every day and we provide the necessary resources and support to make it a reality.
